Risk Systems data warehouse and BI Developer
My Client seeking a talented, highly motivated DWH and BI developer who will be instrumental in the on-going development of our best-in-class risk systems. The successful candidate will work closely with our underwriting and risk analysis teams, in Dublin, London & Bermuda, to enhance our high-performance internal dynamic financial analysis, reporting and risk warehouse systems. He or she will be required to develop an understanding of the risk management domain, collaborate with the business users to develop and refine the requirements for new features, and integrate the solutions into our systems. Primary Responsibilities
- To design & develop data warehouse and BI tools using the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), new columnar store technologies, including tests and documentation, to meet and exceed the requirements of stakeholders in the modelling group.
- To support the applications & tools through their life cycle of testing, deployment, operation, user training, maintenance, and enhancement.
- To work with stakeholders in the risk and underwriting groups to establish, refine, and document functional & non-functional requirements for new and existing systems.
The successful candidate will have:
- 4+ years' experience in data warehousing and ETL/ELT, experience with spatial data an advantage.
- Extensive experience with Datamodelling and star schema design.
- Exceptional knowledge of relational databases, ETL tools and SQL. Experience with Big Data and NoSQL is a distinct advantage.
- General problem solving mentality. The ability to collaborate with different teams on solutions for a variety of different business, code & data related problems.
- Enterprise application development experience. The role requires the ability to deliver scalable, future-proof solutions, work with Legacy code and integrate cross-platform systems.
- VLDB and near Real Time DWH experience
- A degree in computer science or a related discipline, such as mathematics or the natural sciences.
- Experience of working on Linux/Unix platforms an advantage.
- A willingness & ability to pick up new technologies.
