Description

The Recruitment team handles all permanent recruitment activity for the UK business. Overall recruitment volumes are several hundred a year and cover a broad range of roles from customer facing areas and sales to specialist technical roles such as actuarial or finance.

The Resourcer will be responsible for the direct sourcing of candidates using a range of different sourcing techniques, such as Job Board databases, data mining, boolean searches, networking and referrals. He or she will also build and maintain candidate databases for external candidates, participate in manager briefing sessions in order to help shape candidate/role requirements, and may be asked to shortlist candidates against agreed specifications and conduct telephone or video screening in order to ensure we have quality candidate information.

The success of the role-holder will be measured by the number of sourced candidates which result in hire, the number of screened candidates submitted per role (ie having a conversation with candidate to qualify interest/availability) and the number of referrals from existing employees. The role-holder will also be set the objective of building databases for future talent pooling, as well as a market mapping database to directly target individuals with specific skill sets.

Purpose of the role
To source candidates, to support the hiring process, both proactively and in support of recruitment activity being lead by the Resourcing Relationship Managers for specific roles
To build and maintain candidate databases for external candidates
To participate in manager briefing sessions in order to help shape candidate/role requirements
To shortlist candidates against agreed specifications and conduct telephone or video screening in order to ensure we have quality candidate information
To create compelling job adverts and influence when and where they should be published to support current and future hiring requirements
To proactively search for talent using social media and other tools, engaging with passive candidates directly
To use prior knowledge of vacancy requirements and conduct applicant sifts to produce highly relevant shortlists

Essential Experience
Expert understanding and ability to effectively use a range of social media channels relevant > to sourcing
A breadth of sourcing experience covering a wide range of disciplines/variety of roles
Experience of executive search/headhunting either gained in-house or at an Executive Search agency
Significant experience of direct sourcing of senior level candidates

Knowledge
Market knowledge of a range of industry sectors, with a preference for the financial services sector
Working knowledge of how to utilise ATS systems, job boards and databases to proactively source candidates directly
The ability to work to KPIs and targets and quantify direct sourcing success
The ability to network effectively in order to source candidate referrrals eg being a member of a special interest group such as an Actuary forum on LinkedIn
