Web Developer / Consultant - Permanent - Home Based - Extensive TravelThe Web Developer / Consultant will be required to Design, build and maintain website applications in line with clients' needs. As well as :-
* Work as part of a wider project team which include project manager,
business analysts and backend developers.
* On a typical project you will:
a. Work with the client to understand their needs and further
flesh out their requirements with mock-ups and wireframes.
b. Architect/design the application through frameworks.
c. Work with back-end developers to design integration
interfaces.
d. Develop the application, carry out handover activities.
e. Support go-live and carry out post go-live support.
* Actively build relationships with clients and prospective clients and
raise the profile of the company by seeking to establish a reputation
of trusted Professional Adviser.
* Provide technical expertise, guidance, presentation and instruction
on web based technology whilst working in close collaboration with
functional and technical business representatives as well as third
party suppliers.
* Act as a liaison for troubleshooting on technical matters -
investigate, analyse and solve technical problems.
* Contribute to the development of others through knowledge sharing,
informal coaching and support and the design and delivery of
training sessions.
* Pro-actively identify opportunities to develop own skills and
expertise and to stay abreast of changes.
* Responsible for business and financial management in terms of
personal utilisation and business targets, prioritisation and scope
management to deliver quality outputs within agreed time-scales
and budgets.
ESSENTIALS:-
Graduate with a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in
web application development, ideally with experience in developing
internal business applications.
* Solid web development skills, particularly strong in HTML5 / CSS /
JavaScript / jQuery.
* Be able to carry out web application design through wireframes and
mock-ups.
* Solid skills with web application integration in XML, JSon, Web
Services.
* SQL experience e.g. MySQL, MS SQL.
* Be able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills.
* Be able to work in a team with backend developers.
* Able to work in both agile/structured project environments.
* Delivery orientated with excellent time management skills.
* Strong communicator with excellent spoken and written English.
Desirable:
* Java application development in EJB, servlet, JDBC, Hibernate etc.
* Mobile development e.g. iOS, Android
* Frameworks - MVC
