Description

An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for a Quality Systems Engineer to work for a leading Automotive Tier 1. Successful candidates will have proven understanding of Quality Management Systems - TS16949/AutomotiveSPICE and Electronic Systems.

Specification

- Ensure that the EPS Engineering Quality System is developed in accordance with requirements of the client Business Policy Manual, and supports any appropriate specifications eg TS16949, SPICE etc
- Development of the tools to support the Engineering Quality System eg Integrity, Windchill, Clarity, Sharepoint etc
- Identify common processes between multiple sites. Identify best practice, and build on this to develop global processes promoting a common approach.
- Conduct regular reviews of engineering procedures and supporting work instructions to identify and implement process improvements. Ensure all key processes generate objective evidence which can be used to demonstrate that the procedures have been correctly followed.
- Coach and guide the engineering management team, and project teams in the requirements of the Quality Management System, and the tools used to implement it successfully.
- Work alongside the Project Quality Teams to ensure that all engineering deliverables to the customer, and also to the wider organisation are properly verified and released by engineering.
- Plan and implement regular internal audits to check compliance of the engineering teams to the requirements of the Quality Management System. The internal audits will follow TS16949, SPICE, VDA 6.3 etc as required.
- Prepare for and interface with customer and approval authorities' representatives during assessments and audits. Ensure the Quality Management System satisfies the external certification requirements of relevant standards such as ISO 16949:2002, ISO 14001 etc.
- Produce a monthly quality report, including collation of standard metrics (eg EWM). Ensure a consistent approach to the way metrics are completed so as to ensure an accurate representation of project status.
- Support the project management teams in the identification and implementation of appropriate corrective action plans.

What we are looking for

Essential:

- Degree qualified in Engineering or relevant subject
- Experience in the development and implementation of new tools and systems across global organisations.
- Detailed understanding of Quality Management Systems Technical Specifications ISO/TS16949, AutomotiveSPICE etc
- Strong understanding of processes required to develop highly complex and safety critical electronic systems for the automotive market
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own time and that of others.

Desirable:

- Experience in leading large change projects across global organisations encompassing engineering and quality functions.
- At least two years experience in a high profile customer facing technical or quality management role
- EPS product knowledge.
- Experience of managing product development within the automotive industry, either from an OEM or Tier One supplier role (or ideally both).
- Effective oral and written skills, and high degree of PC literacy
