Linux Systems Engineer/DevOps Engineer - Digital Agency - 2 months - £ a day - Immediate Start
Futureheads is recruiting a Linux System Engineer/DevOps Engineer for a digital agency, based in Swansea, initially for 2 months at £ a day.

A major government department is going through one of the most influential digital transformations in history and building a platform that will be used across the board in all subdivisions. Key teams across multiple disciplines are being assembled onsite with them in their South London office and they are currently in search of DevOps technicians to join.
This role requires recent experience in the design, build and implementation of cloud application infrastructure platforms (VMWare based) using 2nd generation automation toolsets. All applicants must have extensive hands on technical experience, including knowledge of Server Side operating systems based on Linux, preferably running Java applications.
This is an exceptional opportunity for skilled specialists to join a programme at the start and earn the highest level of security clearance on a major government programme.
To be considered for this role you will need to be able to display/have knowledge of the following:
- Strong background in system administration and engineering (Linux + LAMP environments - Apache or Nginx)
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environment, sprints and continuous integration
- Experience with continuous build and continuous delivery
- Configuration management tool experience - Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt
- Strong Scripting in Python, Ruby, Perl or Bash - we're not expecting you to be a developer but you must have sound experience
- Cloud hosting: Vmware Vcloud director (Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Director)
- Experience with NoSQL, MongoDB, Redis would be beneficial but not vital
- Jenkins is a definite
- SC will give you extra brownie points but don't worry if not
- Understanding of DevOps culture and collaboration
