Senior Automated Test Engineer
Our client is transforming their marketplace through investments in technology and innovative products and services. One critical piece of the puzzle is top notch testing to identify and resolve any issues before the products and services hit the marketplace. This is a year long project that could go longer.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Analyze technical and non-technical requirements and translate them into both manual and automatable scenarios
- Contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of a reusable and sustainable Test Automation framework
- Expand scenarios by leveraging cutting-edge Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD)tools andscriptingmethodologies
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of both Agile and Waterfall principles and software Development practices
- Possess a deep understanding of web applications and common architecture
- Execute both manual and automated scenarios, analyze results and act accordingly
- Effectively manage individual workload for multiple assignments or projects
- Ability to lead medium-to-large sized products, from concept to delivery
- Mentor and train more junior Test Engineers and other Team members
- Maintain expert level of knowledge in Test Automation and Client applications
- Assist team members in whatever is necessary, anywhere from writing user stories to developing application code, to make the team a success
- Demonstrate a passion for learning new processes and techniques
Qualifications (Required):
- 3-5 years of testing experience
- Ability to write automated scripts
- 3+ years working in Agile environments
- Experience with Rspec, Cucumber, Selenium, or Capybara
- Experience testing Ruby applications
- Willing to do both automated and manual testing
- Strong understanding of Testing practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management or Engineering; or equivalent work experience
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Demonstrated experience in performance and stress testing
