Description

An Offshore Wind Energy Operator is looking for a Cable Installation Engineer to provide support to the Offshore Logistics & Construction Manager in the delivery of the various engineering tasks in respect to time, cost, safety, quality and interfaces. This role will initially be based in Hamburg and will will include offshore rotations from 2017. The contract will firstly be until the end of this year,with possible further long term extensions. Fluency in German and English languages is required.

Responsibilities:

• Support and active participation in technical contract negotiations for the cable installation tender
• Co-ordination of sub packages such as cable route engineering and survey, trenching, pull-in or termination
• Evaluation of cable logistic, lay and burial concepts in respect to time- and risk impacts
• Evaluation of deck layouts, sea fastenings and guide line concepts
• Evaluation of port layouts, load in and load out proposals
• Assessment of risk assessments, method statements, lift plans and operating instructions
• Supporting the certification and MWS process
• Identification and coordination of internal and external interfaces
• Co-ordinating and supervising the array cable installation
• Representing the client interests on offshore construction sites
• Identification and coordination of internal and external interfaces
• Ensure the quality of work during fabrication and installation of foundation and proof that installation is conform to QA and HSSE procedures
• Compilation of the As Built documentation

Job requirements:
• Experienced in technical contract management
• Relevant experiences in cable installation
• Good knowledge about lay and burial, termination, pull-in, testing
• At least five years’ experience as project engineering or technical tender manager
• University degree in engineering or comparable
• Very good communication skills
• Structured thinking, development of methods and procedures
• Good skills in Excel, MS-Project and PowerPoint
• Excellent skills of written and spoken German and English language
• Valid offshore survival & medical certificate
