Description
A GNC Engineer is required to join a team of GNC/AOCS analysts to work on current and future space missions for one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of satellite systems based in Stevenage.
Please Note: There are two positions. Whilst we are looking for an experienced GNC/AOCS Contractor we would also consider a graduate with knowledge of dynamics, control, mathematical modelling, Matlab/Simulink, C/C++ and a small amount of industry experience. Rate will reflect level of experience
The successful candidate will be expected to perform GNC/AOCS design & analysis activities through the full engineering life cycle from initial concept design through to support to validation, producing the associated documentation (design justifications, SW requirements for GNC/AOCS algorithms, performance analysis documentation etc.) and being able to develop SW to a prototype level (non-Real Time simulator development under C/Matlab).
The successful candidate will have as a minimum a good degree in a numerate discipline and preferably qualifications targeted at the space engineering sector.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Good degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline, qualifications with dynamics and control engineering content
Desirable: Higher degree with some relevance to the space industry; higher degree with specialisation in robotics
Previous Experience
Essential: Previous experience on knowledge of dynamics, control, mathematical modelling, Matlab/Simulink, C/C++
Desirable: space industry experience including AOCS/GNC or robotics/automation; computer simulations
