Senior IT Project Manager- German/French, PMI/IPMA, Waterfall, UML, Collateral Management, Securities Lending, Post Trading, Securities Settlement, Global Securities Financing
My client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong focus on IT implementation to manage a Global Securities Financing project related to the collateral management service.
Duration:
The following timeline will apply for the project:
Project start: May 2015 (development and implementation phase)
Project end: Q3/2016 (phase 1), extension for phase 2 optional
Location:
The IT project manager is expected to be based in Luxembourg
Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior IT Project Manager is fully responsible for the management of the IT project delivery.

He/she is fully accountable to deliver the project within time, scope, quality and budget to the business sponsor. He/she is expected to lead the implementation project starting in parallel to the requirements phase. In particular this includes:

Leading and controlling IT stages of the project life cycle from system requirement analysis, design, delivery and test to post implementation, adhering to known project methodologies and best practices.

Full responsibility to delivery from development to testing and implementation within time, scope, quality and budget

Effective management of IT project risks and dependencies.

Close collaboration with the program managers of the program who are responsible for delivery of the constituent work streams within the program

Ensure project management standards and processes used are adhered to.

Ensure correct project documentation is adhered and maintained to defined internal standards and audit requirements.

Ensure correct forecasting and strict budget/cost management of the project

Strong risk management and communication skills are essential.

Responsible for a timely and complete project reporting to the various stakeholders

Close collaboration with the Application Owners and Business CIO line.
Requirements on the Project Manager
Qualification
-
Project management methods must be known and must have been used in former projects (such as PMI or IPMA). A formal project management certification is of advantage.

Extensive experience with IT Project management
-
At least 8 - 10 years of proven project management experience in a financial services environment, including past experience in a major organization in the financial sector

Understanding of programming issues and the capability to ask the right question

Ability to develop project offers and a test strategy

A proven track record of successful delivery of at least 8000 wd projects from specifications to implementation, with a strong focus on IT implementation

Ability to manage several teams, with different specific focuses as well as to convince the team members and get their buy in.

Very good communication skills including C-level, empathy and the ability to work in a team

Good experience with Microsoft Project

Proficiency in written and spoken English; German and/or French is of advantage
Experience/SFIA level

Estimate according to SFIA[1] levels for project managers: SFIA level 6 (Senior Project Manager).
Skills

In addition to project management qualification and the PM capabilities according to the required SFIA level, the following functional/technical skills are required.

Solid knowledge about Software Development methodologies (Waterfall, UML)

Solid knowledge about financial/banking industry (post trading, securities settlement, securities lending, collateral management and repos)
-
Minimum of 5 - 10 years of IT experience
