Description
This is an exciting senior web developer role joining a high calibre team of financial markets experts. The role is responsible for the complete look and feel of the company's Front End technology.
As an experienced and confident user interface expert you will be responsible for the design and architecture of the new Front End, in collaboration with the Server Side development team.
The successful applicant will be improving the consistency between a number of already existing products and the project will also be used as a foundation for new product development.
Ideally candidates will have a solid track record of similar Front End projects in investment banks or trading houses so that there is a clear understanding of users expectations of Real Time, pushed content.
Alternatively experience on systems like online betting exchanges or similar that have fast Real Time user interface requirements is possible.
Responsibilities
- Developer for a major re-architecture of the user Front End technology
- Extensive development of Server Side components
- Assist in the redesign user experience for external and internal users
- Introduce a flexible, reusable and extensible set of images, style sheets and client-side scripts
Required Skills
- Extensive Financial Markets Knowledge
- Extensive Front Office Trading Systems Knowledge
- Expert user interface design experience.
- 5 years minimum experience with:
o HTML/XHTML and CSS
o HTML 5.0
o Java Server Side development
o JavaScript and related engines such as Ajax/Comet
o Spring, Hibernate and related frameworks
Desirable
- Experience of
o WebSockets
o Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF)
o Microsoft SQL Server
- Financial markets experience preferably within Fixed Income and Front Office trading systems. Alternatively experience on a system such as online betting exchange or similar business that has fast Real Time transactional requirements may be suitable
- High performance Real Time GUI development experience.
- Strong source control management ideally in SVN/Git including extensive use of code branching and merging
- Atlassian tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Stash and Bamboo
