Description of duties:

Working under the guidance of the customers IT architect, and adhering to an existing high-level design, the role holder will deliver detailed designs for the items noted below;

Technical requirements document
The role holder will conduct interviews with the key stakeholders to ascertain their technical requirements.
Emerging from these interviews will be a requirements document, which will feed into the subsequent design process.

Base windows server and Workstation build design document, to include;

Security hardening
System monitoring agents
Software distribution agents (see Software distribution below)
Required windows components (eg .NET framework)*
Common Middleware or other non-Microsoft components required (eg Java RTE.)*

*As dictated by the customers application portfolio.

MS Windows AD detailed design based on customer defined requirements.

Group policies
User and security groups
Network subnets
Logon scripts

Software distribution: MS SCCM design based on customer defined requirements

Detailed hardware and software bill of materials for the above systems. This will be used to procure the required hardware and software.

Stakeholders
The administrator will work with, and take guidance from, the following key stakeholders;
Customers IT security lead
Customers Technical applications lead
Customers Local IT co-ordinators
Customers Project manager

Requirements:

  • Strong experience designing MS Windows enterprise environments, MCSE 2012 qualified. The role is not suited to candidates with only support experience.
  • Good practical experience with VM ware.
  • Experience designing SCCM environments.
  • Broad enterprise experience interfacing with non-Windows systems (eg Linux, Oracle and SQL databases.)
  • Comfortable creating high-quality technical documentation, both design and as-built.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently without close supervision.
  • Good English skills.
  • Pragmatic, able to tailor results to available time and budget.

Preferred:

  • Degree in a computing-related subject.
  • Awareness of the technical principles behind Citrix/HP RGS and their uses in an enterprise environment.

  • Allocation: 75%
  • Duration: Estimated 3 months
  • Deadline: ASAP (May 7th )
  • Location: Stavanger & London (UK); The systems will be implemented in both UK and Norway, but the working assumption is that installation and configuration for both locations can be achieved from the customers office in either London or Stavanger.
