Job Description:
My client, a very successful financial organisation is looking for an Infrastructure Programme Manager to plan, structure, lead and execute the Infrastructure Network Security (Cyber Security) programme across a number of lines of business. There may be a requirement for some travel to Europe.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan the programme and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
- Be responsible for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the programme - focusing within I.S. on the internal consistency of the delivery using the best standards and Best Practices.
- Coordinate the project teams within the programme across a number of lines of business to ensure that the delivery of the projects are to the appropriate levels of quality, are on time, and within budget in accordance with the programme plan
- Report progress of the programme at regular intervals to the I.S. Management and programme Sponsors
- Manage the programme's budget, monitor expenditures and costs
- Manage effective communications with all stakeholders
- Manage dependencies and the interfaces between projects in the programme
- Manage all risks and mitigating actions that might impact the programme's successful outcome
- Ensure that there is efficient allocation of resources and skills to the programme
- Manage any 3rd party contributions to the programme as appropriate
- Successfully deliver the programme to the required quality, budget and timelines.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 7-10 years' programme management experience
- Experience working on programmes involving data centre migrations
- Networks and security implementations experience with multiple stream
- Educated to technical degree level, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a full life cycle I.S. Programme Manager on high profile and technologically challenging and innovative enterprise solutions.
- Previous experience managing infrastructure projects and programmes (preference for Network projects).
- Demonstrated success managing complex programme assignments utilising formal project management methodologies and processes (such as PMP, PRINCE2).
- Experience of managing multiple parties, including Senior Project Managers, and 3rd party Vendors.
- Thorough understanding of project budgetary control & financial management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build consensus and bring the programme forward.
- Ability to manage change.
- Ability to apply interpretative and creative thinking in relation to the scope of the Programme, and demonstrate a proactive and enthusiastic approach to embedding this in the Programme.
- Strong business acumen; understanding how I.S. solutions deliver business benefit and the impacts/implication of technology on the Business.
- Excellent communicator at all levels from Executive to Team level. Strong verbal and written skills are essential.
- Strong customer service - proven ability to manage difficult people and customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, and meets commitments.
- Great problem solver - ability to get to the root cause of a problem and put corrective actions and preventative measures in place.
- Proficient user of MS Office tools, in particular, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Powerpoint.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in the Financial Services Industry.
- Experience working in geographically distributed teams.
- Project/Programme Management certification.
- Practical experience of the application development life cycle
