SENIOR RUBY ON RAILS DEVELOPER, ROME, 6 MONTH CONTRACT
One of our prestigious clients is currently looking to add an experienced senior Ruby on Rails Developer to one of their office's based in Rome, Italy.
Responsibilities:
Conduct workshops with the functional team to refine the business requirements for the implementation of functionalities required by the implementation. The analysis should be comprehensive and should cover:
- Functionalities required in the tool
- Migration of data from excel spreadsheets
- Reporting requirements
Design the project plan with tasks to deliver the project
Develop the functionalities as per the business requirements document
Perform the migration exercise required
Support the end users during the testing of the solution
Deploy the solution in production
Provide functional documentation (manual)
Provide technical support in the post go-live phase
Skills & Experience:
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline with at least seven years of professional work experience in Ruby.
- Experience of developing built-on solutions with open source technology (Ruby).
- Experience of both designing and executing technical solutions from business requirements.
- Ability to document technical projects.
Technical Requirements:
- Good knowledge of enterprise patterns, Object Oriented Design patterns and programming techniques
- Knowledge of major Agile Project Management techniques (Scrums, XP, etc.)
- Experience in reading and writing main UML diagrams
- Knowledge of GIT versioning systems
- Knowledge of the most used Web development technologies (CSS, Ajax, JavaScript frameworks like jQuery or Prototype)
- Graphic design capabilities
