Senior Performance QA Engineer - Dublin
Summary:
A global investment bank is seeking a Senior Performance QA Engineer/Lead on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established company as it expands its Irish operations to support the US region. There are career progression opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day actives of the Performance Team along with the pipeline of work
- Participation in the development and execution of performance test projects from requirements analysis, Scripting and providing your recommendations to the project team
- Work with software developers and architects to troubleshoot performance issues and identify/resolve root cause.
- Author test reports to assess the performance health of the systems under test.
- Help in defining, implementing, and monitoring the processes and procedures that need to be put in place to resolve and avoid future performance issues.
- Work collaboratively with other testers, both local and remote.
- Maintain status of projects, initiates discussions with stakeholders or external groups to resolve issues, works directly with the user community for project definition.
- Participate in the creation of the Performance test strategy and take responsibility for its implementation
Education and Experience
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 4-5 years experience in leading a performance testing team
- Prior experience with HP/Mercury LoadRunner and/or other Performance Testing Tools
- Experience Scripting web applications and knowledge of web technologies, Client Server, .NET and database systems
- Web Service, Application Server and Database Server tuning expertise - Tomcat, WebSphere, and Oracle.
- Prior experience evaluating HEAP/Memory issues and environment capacity problems.
- Knowledge of Dynatrace and Documentum is an advantage

- Strong Project Management skills
- Excellent problem analysis and creative solution-building skills.
- Proven customer and relationship management experience with prior experience working with remote teams
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
