Job Description:
My client, a successful financial organisation is looking for a Unix Administrator to join their team based in Dublin for an immediate start.
Work will involve BAU issues and a patching project which encompasses patching of all kit; AIX, HPUX and red hat. The patching project is a subset of a larger project. The patching part of the project is looking at kit right across the organisation which includes networks, work stations, Servers and any other devices that need security updates.
Skills and experience required:
- HMC upgrades
- Network SEA setup on dual vios
- Power 7 experience
- Power 8
- IBM power kit
- AIX 5.3, 6.1, 7.1 on virtual lpars
- Experience of migrating from Aix 5.3 to 7.1 and AIX 6.1 to Aix 7.1
- Experience with technology level upgrades, service packs and os.
- Mksysb
- NIM server
- AIX performance monitoring.
- Server security compliance
- Familiarity with oracle
- Pandora monitoring tool
- NTP
- Ksh Shell Scripting
- Cron
- Disk management
- Red hat linux
- HPUX 11.11, 11.23, 11.31
- Remedy
- Strong command line skills for troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with change control and ITIL processes.
- Careful approach to changes to minimise impact to business.
