12 month initial contrac
£32.00 Ltd per hour

Job Description
This role is required to lead the installation, commissioning and acceptance activities for the Systems that form part of the QEC Mission System on behalf of the MS Comms Engineering Manager and MS Platform Commissioning Manager. As the platform transitions through the installation and commissioning activities, the Systems and 'real-estate' will achieve handover from the shipyard to suppliers and then to the MS Integration Teams. The MS System Lead Engineers will be confirming that equipment has been installed and commissioned to the required standards and that equipment (stand-alone) functionality and performance has been achieved prior to System of System activities.

The main focus of the MS System Lead Engineers will include but not limited to:
1. Directing the installation and associated tests (ITRs) of all MS installed equipment on the QEC.
2. Generation of the System Interface Diagrams on behalf of the MS Engineering Manager; scheduling and chairing Platform Technical Liaison Meetings.
3. Generation of the System Test Forms that bound the Installation and Commissioning Activity.
4. Liaison with the shipyard production/operations teams to steer the resolution of equipment installation issues, design and production queries pertaining to MS equipment installation.
5. Liaison with the Equipment Leads, System Design Authorities and Suppliers to ensure that intra-ship and system dependencies/services, local resources and any external assets are available to support the Commissioning Activity.
6. Day to Day tasking of the RN T&C Engineers via the System Group Head in support of the above. The MS System Lead Engineers are the key-resource that facilitates the interface with the Shipyard Production Teams, MS System Design Authority, Supplier(s) and other associated stakeholders involved in the Installation, Commissioning and Acceptance of MS Equipment on the QE Class.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:
1. Generate, author and manage all Mission System Test Forms and lead on associated activity.
2. Draft the relevant elements of the Monthly Mission System reports to capture progress against the Integrated Project Schedule.
3. Lead on the update and status of Mission System items in the MS Platform Issues Tracking tool and Actions Database.
4. Lead on the Review/validation of Mission System Installation, Commissioning and Test documentation.
5. Convene and manage the stakeholder meetings associated with Mission System activity on the Platforms.

Responsibilities

Major Tasks and Activities:
1. Provide the focus and drive for all matters concerning the installation and commissioning of defined Mission Systems for QNLZ and PWLS on behalf of the Engineering Manager and MS Platform Commissioning Manager.
2. Work extremely closely with the Systems suppliers and Shipyard production teams in the delivery of item 1 above. Convene, chair and manage the output of regular Technical Liaison Meetings; these will target all the stakeholders associated with the installation and commissioning of Mission Systems. Convene and facilitate the preparation and running of the Mission System Activity Gate Review Meetings. [NB. These will be Chaired by the MS Engineering Manager.) Monitor the progress of Mission Systems Test Paths and Commissioning Paths working closely with the MS CMS Team.

6. Raise as early as possible with the MS Physical Team any departures or issues that would affect system installation/commissioning or impact on the achievement of a successful Compartment Completion Inspection.
7. Lead the identification, sentencing, tracking and verification (once cleared) of all Mission System related non-conformances on the platforms using the NCMS tool-set.
8. When required, support MS sponsored visits by MS teams, their suppliers and other stakeholder groups.
