Description
Overview- Engineering aide/technician to support Smart Freight dimensioning and locationing sensor evaluations.
- Limited supervision.
- No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
- Sets up and operates equipment or process including adjusting, rebuilding, or modifying.
- Monitors process for evaluating or implementing change.
- Collects detailed characterization data and report.
- Assists in the design and implementation of equipment improvements.
- Performs complex experiments and analyze data.
- Assists in the design of experiments.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses complex problems with processes and equipment, and defines possible solutions.
- Explains validity of problem.
- Performs testing and modifications to prototype development hardware.
- Provides documentation of events and status with analysis of actions/results.
- Writes specifications.
- Creates operation manuals/documents for procedures/specifications.
- Works with schematics, overlays, and notes.
- Interacts within team and outside on issues.
- Participates in the planning and coordination of tasks with minimal direction.
- Requires some lifting of equipment 20-40 pounds and some physical activity to install equipment.
- Will be installing antennas, cabling.
- Will be using ladders for installations.
Qualifications
- Excellent Communication, writing, and organization Skills
- Experience with experiment setup and breakdown
- Experience in Lab activities that involve development of PCB assembly and testing
- Familiarity with imaging and 3D technology is a plus
- Have basic understanding of computers, windows operating system and knowledge of basic DOS Shell commands like mkdir, etc. is a plus
- Five or more years relevant experience
- Must have a Technical Associates degree
