Description
Summary- Identify, plan, and manage database project activities.
- Analyze and evaluate methods of improvement.
- Design, administer, install and monitor complex and/or critical software, databases, and database applications.
- Evaluation and selection of DBMS hardware and related software.
- Understand business requirements to create, revise, and maintain logical data models.
- Provide on-going physical database and database environment support.
- Reports to Leader Database Management.
- Project entails consolidating customer information systems.
- This is a high pressure position.
- Hours: typically normal business hours but there will be off hours work needed sometimes.
- Some travel may be required during the project.
Skills:
- At least 5 years of recent SQL Server Experience
- Able to work outside of normal business hours when required (limited need)
- Able to travel between sites as required (limited need)
- CIS system experience at Electric/Gas Utility a plus
- Education: Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
- Area of Study: Computer Science, Management Information System, Computer Engineering, or related degree
- Gas/Electric customer information background would be preferred, but is not required.
- Need to be able to integrate into a team of senior DBAs with 12-20 years of background.
- Need to have larger company experience. The database they are working with isn't huge (2 terabytes), but there are 30 different test environments that they will be supporting.
- Windows clustering experience is a plus.
