Position Title: Data Modeling Architect
Location: Sacramento, CA 94203
Work Type: W-2, Corp to Corp, 1099
Contract duration: 6months + (strong possibility of extension)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in functional requirements gathering as needed and provide quality assurance of analysis completed by staff such as use cases, designs and design documents for actuarial related work.
- Work with other business and technical teams to design, create and enhance logical/physical data models for actuarial services but take into consideration its interconnections with retirement benefits, health benefits, financials and others. Ensure new models and changes fit in with the overall functionality of the data model and meet the Client data modelling/database standards
- Provide overview of Actuarial Valuation System logical and physical data models to Client staff, including information architects, business architects, security administrators, data modelers, data administrators, data managers, data reporters and Business Intelligence (BI) staff
- Assist ACTO programmers with answering business-related and data model questions and reviewing SQL to ensure correctness
- Validate Client business information flow and business rules against dimensional/conceptual/logical/physical models utilizing existing documentation such as use cases and business requirements
- Administer changes to data models using Allfusion's ERwin modelling tool; including developing and maintaining data dictionaries used to describe the data models and their support of the system and making structural changes to the data model
- Mentor Client data modelers on all work done related to Actuarial services including the use of the data modelling tools
- Attend project, staff, and management meetings as required
- Record work hours daily in required time tracking tools
- Submit monthly status report with invoices
Skills and Experience
- At least five (5) years' experience with relational modelling of complex systems
- At least five (5) years maintaining data models using data modelling tools (Allfusion Erwin and Model Manager preferred)
- At least five (5) years' experience with complex PL/SQL
- At least five (5) years' experience performing tasks pertaining to the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of data conversions, reports, data audits and data fixes
- At least two (2) years' experience with dimensional modelling of an enterprise data warehouse
- At least three (3) years of said experience must have been on a project(s) with a budget of at least $15 million
- At least five (5) years of industry experience in Investments, Retirement programs, Health and Actuarial services.
