Eurocity is now recruiting for a GIS JAVA Developer. The person selected will mainly develop services and probably be called to participate to its further evolution. Development is here intended not only as pure software implementation but it includes activities such as production of technical notes, implementation of unit tests, and refactoring.
Job responsibilities and task description:
- Design, development and maintenance of the CHMI and Portal map applications
- On-call support for about 3-4 weeks a year during the applications migration
- Development and maintenance of unit tests for the map components
- Prototyping of new architecture or features
Candidates interested in applying for this role will be expected to demonstrate the following experience:
- Extensive Java and Javascript knowledge
- Experience in map libraries such as LuciadMap (LuciadLightspeed) and LuciadRIA
- Experience in Object Oriented Analysis, design and programming
- Experience with swing is very important
- Experience in design and development of optimized Java code, performance tuning, multithreaded applications and memory management
- Very good mathematical skills
- Experience in Application Server Weblogic or similar
- Experience with open source tools based on Java, Web 2.0 technologies and IDE like Eclipse
- Experience with code generation
- Experience in the mission critical application development.
- Experience in unit testing
