INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT
MISSION
Define new standards and reference architectures for the future IT infrastructure architecture, this means, defining the new infrastructure foundations for database services, web services, networking services, communication services (mails, UC, )
Design and/or validate the infrastructure solution blueprint(s) for projects in collaboration with the outsourcing partners & the Application Competence Centers (Business)
Fulfill the needs of (business) customers by «smoothly» driving the overall design and build of the IT Infrastructure («get it right first time»)
Guarantee Infrastructure Design & Architecture involvement in all projects
Acting as the conduit between management & staff, as a team leader he/she will be responsible for managing a group of people and will spend time delegating tasks, negotiating workloads, assessing performance and reporting.
Focus on core Solution Design activities
1.Roadmap & Strategy definition
a.Consolidate & steer IT infrastructure roadmaps & strategies
b.Carry out cross-IT studies (Network, Data Centers, Capacity Mgmt, Monitoring, Disaster/Recovery, IT integrations, etc)
2.Design & Architecture
a.Define the most optimal IT infrastructure for business & cross-technical projects, from scoping to project design
b.Carry out high-level design & estimates
c.Handover to Service delivery teams for detailed design & estimates
d.Suppor strategic business transformation projects.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
üMinimum 10 years in IT Infrastructure roles
üMinimum 5 years' experience as Infrastructure Architect
üExperience in IT infrastructure project management
QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
üDeep knowledge of datacenter technologies: Storage (SAN, NAS), Hardware platforms, Virtualization (e.g. Vmware), Citrix, Windows Server, Active Directory, Unix/Linux Server
üWintel / Linux Server infrastructure management tools
üKnowledge of storage design (different storage tiers, best practices, Backup, IOPS, )
üDeep knowledge of networking & security technologies eg Firewalls, Load Balancers, Routing, DMZ concept, VLAN's, QoS, WAN, WAN optimization.
üGood knowledge of database technologies eg Oracle, MS SQL
üGood knowledge of web services (IIS, Tomcat, Apache, Web application server)
üKnowledge about 3 tier application infrastructure design
üKnowledge about licensing
üExperience in ITIL v3 Service management
üKnowledge of SAP architecture
üExcellent understanding of IT market trends and innovations
üExcellent understanding of the Services management processes and IT Provider services,
üExcellent IT IS analytical skills
üExcellent organizational- and time management skills
üExcellent Communication skills
üKnowledge of foreign languages (English, Dutch , French, ...)
