We are currently searching for a Linux (RHEL) Senior System Engineer for one of our clients in Belgium.
The ideal engineer will contribute to the innovation, technical design and the development of a large Linux (RHEL) Server infrastructure which is mostly virtualized. Hardware integration, OS build and software stack creation, virtualization within an international scope.

Our client has invested a lot in the development of a performing Linux infrastructure. You will be part of a team of Linux specialists that guarantees the standardization, the reliability and the stability of an innovating physical and virtual environment.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Linux Senior System Engineer, you carry out the following tasks:
- Be part of an IaaS team implementing Cloud Technologies and in particular automation of services and provisioning (based on VMware/VRealize technology).
- Service design and Process design.
- Provide end to end solutions for Database, Web and Application Hosting.
- Provide solutions with support of the other technologies like Virtualization, Storage and Network.
- Write documentation and provide guideline to operational teams
- Ensure solutions are secure and compliant to the policies and minimum standards
Be in charge of the daily activities related to the Linux platform with the help of an external provider who is in charge of the support activities:
- Ensure technical coordination with the external providers
- Take part in Business projects and in application integration tasks
- Together with the Solution Architect, analyse business requests and translate them into a Detailed Level Design in line with strategy
Participate actively to the infrastructure projects related to the Linux platform, identify and take part in Linux platform evolutions and improvements
Identify and propose improvements for the processes related to the Linux platform
Your profile
Knowledge and experience
- A master or a bachelor degree in Information Technology;
- A minimum of 5 years of IT experience with at least 3 years in the RHEL Linux domain as System Engineer;
- A very good technical knowledge of RHEL Linux systems
- Experience Network and/or Storage and with virtualization (VMWare), is an asset.
- Knowledge of Scripting PowerShell/Javascript is a plus
- An excellent written and spoken knowledge of English;
- Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an asset;
