MI/BI Architect, Reading, SC Cleared, ETL, SQL, BPO
- Responsible for providing architecture governance and solution design
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to Capita Group and ISD Divisional architecture standards
- Join an existing team of architects to provide solution design across the account
- Responsible for helping to develop an architecture repository for account
- Assurance of architecture quality and delivery into live service
- Responsible and accountable for ensuring that solutions align to a consistent set of architecture principles and policies
- Attending Programme/Project Board meetings as required
- Work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure solution architectures are fit for purpose
- Assist programme/project managers with scoping, definition & planning
- Provide architecture impacts for requests for change for the enterprise
- Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the data models.
- Ensure that common definitions are used and that new data models meet company standards for readability, reliability, and performance.
- Align the data models with the reference data models and ensure data lineage across the whole BI Reporting stack.
- Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.
- Make use of modelling tools in order to define the metadata, analyse schema changes and generate code.
- Develops best practices for guidelines, standard naming conventions and practices to ensure consistency of data and ETL models.
- Communicate data design strategy, guidelines, principles and standards to the project team.
Key skills/competencies for this role
- Currently security cleared to SC level or above
- Previous experience of design/architecture team leadership
- Educated to degree level or above
- Extensive background in transforming business requirements into data models and creating enterprise Business Intelligence architectures based on large scale source systems
- Extensive knowledge and experience of data warehouse modelling techniques.
- Good knowledge and ls in MS SQL Server, MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and MS SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- Competent in MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), MS Office BI (Excel, PowerPivot), MS Sharepoint.
- Extensive knowledge of Data warehouse ETL design.
- Design experience of secure architectures
- Design/implementation/governance experience within a large enterprise
- Solid communication skills both verbally and written
- Ability to multi task and work across several architecture solutions
- 10+ BPO years' experience
- Design experience in transition, pre-sales and implementation
- Architect lead experience within an enterprise
- Design and governance of complex architectures
- Business requirements definition and high level design deliverable experience
- Proven ability to design and implement an architecture that involves multiple suppliers
