Description
Proteus Europe are currently looking for an Embedded Software Architect for one of our clients in Belgium.- Proficient in English and at least either Dutch or French.

Role and responsibilities:
- Ensure the defined architecture is in sync with customer needs, system architecture and compatible with project timelines;
- Define the SW architecture, communicate it and make sure it is understood and applied by the development team;
- Ensure the architecture is future proof, sustainable and maintainable;
- Translate System requirements into SW requirements;
- Identify all development task and perform effort estimations;
- Coach the development team;
- Review code and documents generated by the development team;
- Participate in the improvement of the product creation quality;
- Review HW design and give advice for a better SW integration and impact;
- Participate in risks identification and mitigation;
- Dialog and align with other architects;
- Communicate clearly with customers, team, and management;
- Work in collaboration with the SW project leader;
- Participate to the project development activities and resolution of technical issues.
Minimal requirements:
- 10+ years of experience with embedded software development in Java, C, C++, and/or assembly code as a developer and/or architect;
- Solid Java programming experience for embedded devices is essential;
- Knowledge of ARM processors and development tools - in particular ARM11, ARM9, CORTEX-M3 and their various compilers;
- Embedded Linux experience;
- Strong debugging skills;
- Good communication skills;
- Experience in multi-site project;
Experience with or knowledge about one or more items are additional assets:
- Telematics use cases and/or the Telematics market in general;
- The automotive industry and its process quality requirements;
- Java virtual Machine internals;
- Cellular network technology in general, and 2G/3G/4G cellular baseband stacks in particular;
- SW Security concepts and encryption;
- GNSS positioning technology;
- NFC technology;
- Configuration management;
- SW quality;
