Role - Solution Architect
We are looking for a Solution Architect who can help drive new service creation for a leading UK retailer. The architect will have strong end-to-end experience of building and deploying solutions at high speed following an agile process. The role requires innovative thinking and the ability to challenge the status quo whilst simultaneously being pragmatic to ensure an MVP solution is developed and delivered.
This is an exciting opportunity to create modern solutions, fast, using the very best techniques and technologies available in the market. As a result the candidate must be conversant in modern solution architectures and happy to challenge traditional methods of building solutions, able to articulate the benefits and impact of such approaches.
Principal Responsibilities
- Participate as member of service creation team to build and deploy an MVP solution and thereafter drive enhancement of this solution.
- Lead and own the solution design, maintaining this as the architecture evolves throughout the entire project life cycle
- Drive solution options analysis, working with senior architects to ensure available approaches are considered and documented, culminating in a recommendation
- Participate in design authorities, communicating key design decision to broader architecture teams
- Interface with the stakeholders to understand the key drivers of the project, communicate and manage expectations on key design decisions.
- Ensure solution complies with relevant client architecture standards and other project-defined constraints
- Work with the team to create and deploy the solutions.
Required Skills
- At least 10 years of experience in designing and developing enterprise scale IT solutions, preferably with exposure to retail domain including E-commerce, multi-channel and recommendations engines
- A deep understanding of building modern web and mobile applications, able to communicate solution architectures to non-technical stakeholders, as well as developers
- Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment, and aware of their impact on solution architectures
- Expertise in authoring solution architecture and design artefacts in standard notations like UML that can be easily consumed by the development team
- Prior experience with developing web based applications using modern web MVC solutions such as angular and Server Side Java
- Ability to be a hands-on' team player who is ready to get into the details and enable the team to deliver the working solutions to production is essential.
