Description
We are currently recruiting for a Project Safety Engineer to undertake and lead Safety Engineering activities (exc. Health and Safety) for Projects as defined by Project Safety Plans.
Implement safety related activities on projects to ensure that systems meet safety requirements and adequate safety assurance documentation is produced to meet project time scales and requirements.
Principle Accountabilities
* Accountable to Project Safety Manager or Project Manager
* Undertaking and planning safety assessment activities, the production or update of Safety Cases and support documentation as required
* Ensuring that Safety Cases address the requirements of Project Plans and produced in a timely manner
* Carry out Hazard Analysis to define safety requirements, and detailed technical system analysis to demonstrate that safety requirements can be met
* Adopting a pro-active approach to ensure that any issues that could affect the safety of Operational Units are identified and raised to appropriate authority
* Provide focal point for Safety Engineering support within a Project as required
* Assists in resource estimation for relevant projects and completion of tasks within allocated timescales
* Manage own resource against prioritised objectives for assigned projects
* Routinely refer to the Senior Project Safety Manager for guidance on key issues and any conflicting resource commitments
Scope
*Participation in conducting relevant audits
* Carrying out reviews of third party safety analysis (FMECA, FTA, ETA etc.)
* Developing safety assurance by application of pertinent standards, guidelines and regulatory/legislative requirements
* Undertaking safety analysis by the application of appropriate tools and techniques
Qualifications and Skills
* Demonstrable experience in/understanding of operational and engineering aspects or ATC systems
* Good written communication skills with ability to rapidly assimilate information, prepare and deliver presentations to high standard in short timescales
* Appreciation of the implications of ARM and Integrity upon ATC Systems
* Appreciation of the issues associated with Human Factors and Software to the safe delivery of ATC services
