Description

An Offshore Wind Energy Operator is looking for a WTG Support Engineer to assist the WTG Package Manager at its office Head Quarters on an initial 12 months contract.
The WTG Support Engineer will support the planning of works, including installation through to construction, and work on supplier management on an Offshore Wind Turbine WTG package.

Responsibilities

• Manage the provision of technical specification in the invitation to tender and contract documentation in collaboration with technical experts
• Ensure project specific requirements are included in the specifications and assist on contract document development
• Handle technical queries from suppliers during the tender process
• Participate in meetings with suppliers caring for all technical issues
• Perform technical evaluation of the suppliers' tenders and contract proposals
• Collaborate with Asset Management and Technical Contracting in relevant technical matters
• Handle document management for all technical documentation
• Manage the iterative design process from the WTG package
• Manage design interface issues to the foundation and cable packages in collaboration with the project Interface Manager
• Collaborate with project Quality Manager on quality related issues
• Collaborate with project HSSE Manager on HSSE design related issues
• Ensure WTG Contractor meets technical requirements
• Provide technical information to WTG Contractor & Project Certifier (DNV or similar)
• Provide technical WTG information to Marine Warranty Surveyor

Skills

• 5 years of specific experience on Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs)
• Previous involvement in design process for offshore WTG packages
• Previous involvement in tender process and evaluation of suppliers' tenders and contract proposals
• Experience of WTG installation and understanding contracts
• Knowledge about Quality and Technical product
• Experience in collaborating with HSE and Quality departments
• Offshore certifications: Offshore Medical, Working at Heights, Offshore Sea Survival, First Aid course (minimum 2 days).
