Windows Application Support Technician , Brindisi
We require a Windows Application Support Technician with 5 years IT systems administration experience and good experience of Windows Server and Active Directory administration for our International client in Brindisi, Italy, to work in an English-language Maintenance and Support environment (shift work).
Initial 3 month assignment renewable, starting in June.
Skills
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in administering, managing and support in IT environments;
- A minimum of 2 years of experience administering Windows server and AD;
- Excellent knowledge of at least two of the following: MS SharePoint, MS SQL, MySQL, Business Objects, BizTalk, IIS, .NET applications, PowerShell, LDAP, Linux, Domino;
- Certifications and advanced training in above mentioned skills are desirable;
- Experience in configuration management for software applications and in utilizing reporting tools;
- Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts and processes;
- Familiarity with United Nations policy framework for International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or compliant operational concepts and processes;
- Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems;
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision;
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team of diverse skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
Tasks
- Provide day-to-day maintenance and support for the applications supported by ICC for the ICC partners;
- Assist in the evaluation, configuration and installation of new releases in accordance with established configuration management standards;
- Assist in database structural changes required during system upgrades;
- Assist in the deployment of tools and in the implementation of processes to assist in operational support;
- Assist in responding to application-related queries from end users in remote locations;
- Resolve in a timely manner Tier-2 application issues and escalate Tier-3 issues to Designated focal points;
- Perform trainings to end users on the usage of applications;
- Assist in the development and in the updating of software applications related documentation, including technical documentation and system reports, attend operational and other meetings;
- Shift work as part of an extended service coverage scheme, if required;
- Stand-by services after hours and during weekends and holidays, if required.
LANGUAGES
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required;
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable
