Modis are currently recruiting for an Installation Engineer for a leading Defence client based in Portsmouth to work on a range of MoD ships and submarines, for a 6 month rolling contact.
The successful candidate will utilise their experience in the provision of Installation Guidance information for naval/maritime equipment in support of trials and integration programmes. Experience in CAD drawings is essential, as is at least 5 years using AutoCAD.
The candidate will amend relevant documents (SIF Datum Pack Drawing etc) and upgrades when required, in addition to providing installation and maintenance support for the SIF for each system as required by Def Stan 2-40 and the production of CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
Technical Skills:
*Excellent knowledge with all MoD installation procedures in accordance with JSP 440 and JSP480, RN combat systems & power distribution and electrical power (ideally IEE 17th Edition).
*Knowledge of military cables & connectors to analyse and investigate basic Equipment Guidance Information into a full Installation Guidance Package.
*Awareness of Power Distribution and Safety requirements are essential.
*Equipments Installation experience with previous experience overseeing subcontracted installation work on naval/maritime equipments is strongly desired.
All applicants will undergo a security check and must be clear-able to SC level. Current SC Cleared candidates are preferable due to the timescale of this work.
