SAS Programmer
6 month contract (initially)
Responsibilities:
* Build, develop and test a Decision Support Tool for customers in financial difficulty according to set business requirement documentation.
* Design and write macros that are maintainable, supportable, well-documented programs which are user friendly and accessible.
* Produce technical documentation for the solution including all SAS code.
* Liaise with business on business requirements documentation to ensure the successful delivery of the decision support tool.
* Develops, maintains and validates standard data structure and software.
Experience and Qualification:
* A Bachelor's degree, in a quantitative or scientific discipline and a minimum of 4 years SAS programming experience
* Advanced SAS Programming Skills and experience incorporating Macros, Embedded Loops, Optimisation.
* 5-6 years experience working with the business to understand business requirements and to deliver a solution which can be easily updated and maintained by the Business/Risk Analytics.
* Advanced SAS Certification an advantage.
* Strong understanding of database concepts and linking database tables using primary and secondary indices.
* Strong team player with the ability to influence the direction of development.
* Demonstrated leadership skills as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good problem solving skills, attention to detail, verbal and written communications skills.
* Successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines.
* Ability to perform assigned tasks with little supervision.
* Ability to liaise professionally with team members.
* Understanding of the software development life cycle.
