Role: Senior Security Engineer

Duration: 6+ Months

Day Rate: Competitive

Location: Cork
One of Computer Futures key clients are looking for expert Security Engineers to ensure that systems are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. If you enjoy analyzing the security of applications and services, discovering and addressing security issues and quickly reacting to new threat scenarios, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity. You will participate in security audits, risk analysis, vulnerability testing and security reviews across all elements of our solutions. You'll gain real, hands-on experience working with some the most in-demand technologies: Cloud, DevOps, SDS, SDN and much more.

Security Engineers are expected to be strong in multiple domains and across the solution stack. The Security Engineer will work across the engineering organization to help make sure that best security practices are adhered to. They must also continually and proactively improve their knowledge of the security industry, best practices and how to apply them to Federation solutions. Projects will often be developed with a rapid prototyping or proof-of concept approach. Ability and demonstrated experience working independently through complex issues is a must. The client architect, develop, test and document the solution stack, generally comprised of but not limited to core the client's products. The primary role for solutions engineering is the technical implementation of complex, high profile solution initiatives such as the Hybrid Cloud and others.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation and remediation plans

- Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services

- Work with teams across the Federation (client, Pivotal, VCE, VMware, RSA) to develop best practices, integrate security across our solutions, and produce publications that help secure our customers.

- Evangelize security and create security awareness across the organization

- Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies

- Participate in security vulnerability response handling
7+ - 7 years relevant experience

-The candidate will have acted as a lead or senior contributor within a team, documenting and delivering these solutions and demonstrate how they follow the characteristics of services as they relate to some or all of these areas of security:

  • Web services security


- Research, initiate and drive the evaluation of partner or home-grown tools/technologies/processes to maintain and enhance the security of client solutions.

- Work closely with agile development teams and their delivery deadlines to remediate application vulnerabilities detected through security scanning tools.

- Work closely with client's Product Security Office (PSO) in conducting Security Assessment on solutions that will include threat modelling, code analysis, component handling and remediation/mitigation plans.
