Description

Under general supervision, the Project Manager oversees small to medium projects or phases of larger projects from initiation through close to support the needs of the business.

The role is responsible for coordinating activities of a project team, identifying appropriate resources needed, managing scope, developing schedules and providing monitoring and control to project close to ensure timely completion of projects. Typical projects at this level are valued at less than $250k (indicative) and include 3 or 4 functions and small/medium work teams.

Work Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Manager leading small/medium projects
  • Alternately, 4 years' experience in a project support role where extensive exposure to project management concepts, techniques and methodologies are demonstrated
  • Experience in estimating work efforts in a professional services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business and technical impacts of user requirements and incorporate them into project schedule
  • Ability to drive projects to timely completion
  • Experience in technology management, knowledge management, business analysis, program/project management, and quality management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing software development or infrastructure projects
  • Documented experience in creating and maintaining issues, risks and change logs
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on experience as a software developer or engineer is highly advantageous

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
  • CAPM certification or Prince 2 certification
  • In-depth knowledge of project management processes and techniques
  • Understanding and experience with the Software Development and Infrastructure Life Cycle
  • Flexible, enthusiastic approach to work including a strong desire to succeed
  • Fast learner that can think "out of the box" and come up with creative solutions
  • Ability to organize and track simultaneous activities
  • Ability to see risks and recommend mitigation approaches and identify issues while managing effective outcomes
  • Above average facility with standard Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to use planning and collaboration tools
  • Works well with ambiguity
