Sitecore Developer

We are seeking an innovative and passionate Site Core Developer to join an ambitious organisation based in Newcastle. They are looking for someone who will contribute to development projects and seek out new technologies and methods of working.

Working within the Development team, you will produce scalable software applications and deliver across the full Software Development Lifecycle. You will join a collaborative and passionate technology team and have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects.

You will be responsible for:
*Demonstrate creativity and passion in developing software applications of an exceptional quality that derive the maximum benefit for users and the organisation
*Enjoy working in a flexible, fun environment in which the development of high quality, robust, secure, scalable software applications can flourish
*Provides technical support and work collaboratively with the development team
*Maintain knowledge and be equipped to perform within new and emerging technology landscapes
*Designing, implementing, monitoring and supporting process and governance structures across the Software Development Lifecycle
*Adopt best practice software development approach, experience of working in an Agile manner possibly as a Scrum Master
*Responsible for working closely with the Architecture and Analysis team in defining and delivering Solutions
*Provide support to colleagues within the project team, working together to ensure deadlines are met and quality development is delivered
*Demonstrate a flexible attitude to change in order to support the organisation in meeting its current and future objectives

Technologies:
*Experience developing ASP.NET applications using C#
*Strong skills in understanding .NET Framework platform
*Experience with MS SQL Server
*Extensive CMS experience, Sitecore certification preferred
*Experience with web technologies XML/XSLT, IIS, JavaScript
*Extensive Microsoft web stack experience; Classic ASP, ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS
*Ability to quickly implement features, diagnose problems and fix bugs in large unfamiliar codebases
*Experience configuring, debugging and addressing issues in SQL databases (T-SQL, MySQL)
*Confidence monitoring and maintaining an IIS web infrastructure for a high traffic, mission-critical website
*Knowledge of the development life cycle with proven commercial experience delivering projects on time and to specification
*Team player, able to work with cross-functional teams (Creative, Technical, Marketing & Project Management)
*Excellent self-organisation, self-motivation and time management
*Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including being comfortable influencing others and working across regions.

Desirable Skills & Experience

*Experience working in an Agile development environment
*Bug tracking, source control, continuous integration tools
*Unit testing, browser test automation (Selenium), load and performance analysis
*Web services experience, such as REST or SOAP
*Software Design Patterns
*Inversion of Control/Dependency Injection
*Distributed Message System Design/Development
