About the position
Traditional communication providers are undergoing many changes. The future of today's Operations Support System (OSS) and Business Support System (BSS) is at an inflection point. At our newly formed DC in Ireland, we are pioneering new business and software architecture to support next generation products and solutions.
The mission of Ireland DC is to position our client as a recognized technology leader in management software for communication systems (OSS and BSS). To achieve this, we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline DC of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The DC will work closely with an open innovative ecosystem withclients European customers to address real-world issues. The DC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support Clients technical projects.
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Software Developer/Engineer with excellent problem solving abilities who is excited by real challenges in leading edge Server Side development.
Key Responsibilities include:Guiding software development of a research project and technology project, including working with external development partners and internal engineers;
Rapid Development and design on JAVA based Server Side software to prove the concept of prototypes
Supporting the implementation of model-driven architecture (MDA), demonstration of designs by model experts and domain experts (JAVA programming).
Ability to take general direction from lead architect, but more importantly be able to work in an efficient and independent manner.
Desired Skills and ExperienceB.Sc./M.Sc.in computer science, engineering science, software engineering or similar relevant discipline; with a minimum 5 years of practical software development experience;
Demonstrated experience in developing Eclipse Model Framework and Ecore technologies, modelling engineering;
In-depth understanding of the specification, design, documentation, coding, testing and release of commercial software;
Demonstrated experience on Server Side development;
Demonstrated experience in building prototypes;
Fluent in multiple programming languages, including JAVA ,
Experience in developing models with Eclipse environment using Ecore, XML, XMI.
A deep understanding of Object Oriented Design in software systems and MDA ( model-driven architecture );
Experience in coding Real Time/multi-thread software;
Sound knowledge of XML/XMI.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Problem solving ability and lateral thinking capability;
Proven ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines to accomplish objectives;
Proven ability to work in small teams with very little guidance;
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel;
Entrepreneurial thinking and work ethic.
Location
This is a Full time position at our DC in Dublin, Ireland or Athlone, Ireland. Business trips may be requested as necessary to support strategy engagements.
