I am looking to hire a Senior Finance Manager for one of my public sector client.

Essential Experience:

Qualified Accountant - Business Partner role - Proven experience of managing and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives

This job holder is responsible for working in partnership with the business to provide specialist coaching, support and influence that enables the Operational management to effectively deliver their financial plans. To provide a consultancy service that delivers best practice and commercially focused finance solutions that supports business delivery.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Business Partner support to the Operational management team in the first instance and to SMT where business risk requires such.
  • Provide training/coaching to Opeartional management team and SMT as required.
  • Position the role of Business Partner as an integral part of the management team by developing effective working relationships, influencing and challenging the senior management team on their personal style and the development and delivery of their people plans in support of the achievement of the business area and HR strategies.
  • Drive, influence, advise on performance, budgetary and savings, and business improvement initiatives within the business area in order to improve business efficiency.
  • Identify short, medium and long term finance and/or savings issues.
  • Contribute to the delivery of business area Key Performance Indicators.
  • Drive and help embed a performance management culture within the business area as a means of driving business improvement by ensuring clear objectives, feedback and the improvement of customer service through behaviours aligned with our values.
  • Support, coach and mentor the finance team
  • Provide personal support on the research, design and development of HR initiatives in support of the HR strategy, using expert knowledge of the client area.
  • Provide both transformational advice and transactional support in order to improve cost and efficiency, clarify accountabilities and empower delivery of great customer service.

Skills/Capabilities

  • Proven experience of delivering a Business Partner role
  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships within Finance and the rest of the business
  • Experience of effective challenging and influencing at senior manager/Director level
  • Experience of managing significant organisational change and of developing Finance strategy in line with business needs
  • Proven experience of managing and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives
  • Demonstrate evidence of influencing and coaching skills
  • Experience of engaging teams in financial information providing training and awareness
  • An up to date understanding of accounting standards
  • Strong leadership and management development experience.
  • Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
