Description

Summary:
  • Android Java and iOS Objective C SME required to review over 100 existing and create new sample code and application notes to support ISVs and the broader developer community.
  • The engineer would facilitate the roll out of the updated LaunchPad site, monitoring and answering questions posted to the discussion boards.
  • Team is not a standard software development group, they provide SW Dev Consulting to their partners.
  • A lot of documentation around them so the contractor needs to create new documentation and primarily updating and reviewing the existing code they have.
  • Reviewing and testing some existing code, creating new sample code and working with tech documentation person. They do have a cross development platform.
  • Provide the leadership and support necessary to insure consistency in data collection, test analysis and overall utilization of the departmental knowledge base and self-help tools.
  • Provide front line software development support for partners in (Independent Software Vendor) program.
  • Work with Partner Managers to build and formalize the technical relationships with partners.
  • Pro-actively engage with ISV partners to streamline the development process and facilitate the integration of printers into a larger solution set.
Responsibilities:
1. Update technical and application data within internal technical support site, as well as assisting in the identification and creation of content for the external Knowledge Base.
2. Develop and conduct internal and external training programs and support material, as needed.
3. Gather all relevant case information from strategic partners and work to resolve, recreate, or test reported symptoms.
4. Act as partner liaison to the Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
5. Escalate cases to developers, Engineering Program Manager, or department manager after exhausting all methods to resolve the case within the context of the partner issue.
6. Work with Technical Support and sales engineers to provide additional resource as required for large projects and identify potential targets for ISV program.
7. Serve as development consultant and advocate during product development and design control meetings.
8. Work with targeted partners to develop and validate new print solutions within their software solution offerings.
9. Provide regular reporting to management on service request volume, service levels, and support trends.
10. Drive innovation and program improvements to increase value and effectiveness of partner support program.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
12. Learns quality standards and processes and applies them during the design process.
13. Develops proficiency with development tools.
14. Provides recommendations on problems of limited scope.
15. Learns to apply knowledge to standard engineering problems, usually involving platform derivatives.
16. Completes assignments within specified time frame and according to design specs.
17. Uses standard tools to analyze and recommend solutions to problems of limited scope,
18. Employs education to develop basic professional expertise.
19. Learns and closely follows established processes and directions.
20. Develops understanding of customers, competition and the macro trends affecting the business.
21. Develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines and other Company functions.
22. Makes recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
23. Effectively communicates technical and non-technical ideas to others.

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field. - Would consider someone sans a degree if they are strong.
  • Strong computer peripheral hardware, software, and network database skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile (Android, iOS top 2 priorities), Windows Mobile (nice to have) and Windows development environments utilizing Java, Objective C (must have), C#, & .NET. (nice to have)
  • Strong knowledge of mobile operating systems.
  • Motivated and self-directed professional with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong focus on customer advocacy.
  • Proven experience with wired/wireless network environments including network communications and protocols.
Desired:
  • Preferred understanding of programming for web development, Unix/Linux, XML.
  • Technical expertise with all existing products, programming languages, and a working knowledge of the Auto-ID industry is a plus.
