Description
Summary:The Mobility Center of Practice (MCOP), or Mobility and Mobile Device Architect, is in charge of mobile device strategy, architecture, design, build, configuration and operational support globally for mobile devices. This role will serve as an Enterprise Technical Architect, responsible for mobility solution design work and for steering implementation of infrastructure designs. This role will architect medium to larger sized technology deployments and new technology operational support processes in the support of global mobility initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluate (or lead others in evaluating) new devices, mobile solutions, vendor software offerings, or mobility strategies that pertain to future-state MCOP infrastructure.
- Quickly analyze multiple infrastructure technologies and their interdependencies to discover the cause of production mobility performance issues or bugs'.
- May lead sub-team working with peer team representation for larger scale or more complex technology deployments.
- Aggressively experiment with new mobile technologies as part of a Mobility R&D' function.
- Evaluate ways that company could leverage such technologies and present to the business for exploitation.
- Respond quickly to business requests for solutions to mobility requirements.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Continuously re-evaluate MCOP operational processes and identify and recommend process improvements.
- Design and/or verify infrastructure design for medium/larger size complex and global technology deployments; translate requirements into appropriate implementation tasks.
- Perform work using existing standards, methodologies, tools and processes.
- Study and understand other software/business processes relationship to each other.
- Communicate project progress to all appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide project status reports for all active technology deployment projects weekly.
- Prepares and develops operational and support materials and may build training materials.
- Document and mitigate technology deployment project issues and risks.
- Partner/collaborate with IT and clients.
- Identifies and implements process improvements
Basic:
- Bachelor's Degree or 10 years of relevant IT work experience.
- 2 years of infrastructure implementation experience.
- 2 years supporting and implementing any Mobile Device Management solution or any Telecom Expense Management (TEM) solution.
- 2 years working with iOS, Blackberry or Android device operating systems.
- 1 year working with Microsoft Exchange messaging environments.
- Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and/or identity management systems and concepts.
- MS Office competency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
- 7 overall years of IT experience.
- 2 years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst or other role gathering requirements from users and designing solutions to fulfil them.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting and implementing server based environments.
- Experience with multiple OSs preferred.
- MS Project experience.
- Apple or Google app development experience and/or app signing and distribution experience.
- Ability to act with speed and calm urgency to perform in a way that demonstrates agility, accuracy, and responsiveness through our performance as a department.
