Description

Summary
  • The Sr. SQL Server DBA/Database Migration Consultant is responsible for the analysis and migration of a number of Microsoft Access Databases over to MS SQL Server 2012.
  • This position will require expert knowledge in database (MS SQL Server) design, tuning, modelling, backup and recovery methods in multiple version of SQL Server and must be well versed in .NET, MS Access, Macros and VB Scripting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology majors, or equivalent experience with systems administration
  • 7+ years of Solid experience in installation, administration and maintenance of multiple SQL Server databases
  • Extensive experience with both MS Access and SQL Server 2012
  • Prior experience converting MS Access databases to SQL Server environment
  • Experience in .NET programming, VB Scripting and Macros
  • Working in a Health Care HMO Organization in a similar capacity
  • Knowledge of Oracle databases (10g R2 and 11g) and creating linked Servers
  • Review database performance metrics and proactively address performance concerns of the converted databases
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues
  • Perform capacity and resource planning/management
  • Experience in building and maintaining DEV, QA and PROD and Disaster Recovery environments
  • A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills
  • Must have a service oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and highly focused are required
  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple priorities
  • A strong understanding of the software development life cycle and software development methodologies (requirements gathering, analysis and design)
