Role: PostgreSQL Architect
Duration: 6 months daily rate contract

Location: Dublin or remote.

X-Factor: Long extensions likely, remote working possible.

An Irish leading Financial services company are now looking to add a PostgreSQL DBA to team in Dublin.

Your Role:

You will be managing PostgreSQL and other open source databases through multiple product life cycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. You will be responsible for the data models and data design across the business. An important part of the role will be configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, monitoring the system health, capacity planning to ensure high level of performance, availability and security.

Another responsibility is database storage architecture design and management alongside refining and automating regular processes, track issues and document changes.

Type of person:

An independent self starter who has managed project with PostgreSQL previously, there is travel involved to visit the offshore development team twice every 3 months in Europe. The role can be done remotely after an initial 2 weeks on site in Dublin.

Your Skill-set:

• 3 years of professional DBA experience
• 3 years of PostgreSQL experience
• Experience in high availability

Desirable

• PostgreSQL certification
• Project Management experience
