Job Description:
My client is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join their team in Cork as a Storage Design Assurance & Optimisation Lead ASAP and be one of the owners of all company's infrastructure design compliance for Storage within the IT Supply Chain
The role of the Storage Design Assurance Lead is to ensure the design of all Storage (ie SAN, NAS, Cloud, Fibre Channel, SCSI etc) elements of all systems designed within the company and BPOs are aligned to agreed architectural and principles.
Responsibilities:

To ensure there is design adherence to Regulatory compliance and Security requirements.

Ensure systems design documents including High Level Designs are produced modified and signed off for any change or new service.

Working with the other members of Platform Design Assurance, contribute the definition of feasibility pricing as requested by Infrastructure Demand Management

Provide the company with the ability to assure Storage designs in all Storage deployments.

To ensure that the Storage domain knowledge for the operation and development of end to end business services across the company is maintained and knowledge bases developed and kept up to date

For new Applications engage early in the development process and broker the selection of the appropriate Storage solution understanding the potential impacts on existing systems and services, and how it will integrate into the overall company data model and be consistent with the all standards.

Ensure that any recommended platform choice' for this service is aligned to the current capacity and volume commitments in the contracts with the suppliers

Be responsible for leading any service performance escalation with the Storage Service provider to their conclusion

Be responsible for ensuring that the Storage element of all system designs are aligned to agreed infrastructure architectural principles and that the appropriate functional and non-functional requirements are included in the design and mandate adherence to compliance and Security requirement.

Be responsible for ensuring all System design documents including HLDs are produced modified and signed off and feedback to Platform Architecture where there is need to add to or modify architectural principles

Be the technical platform owner for Storage elements of any Retained hardware and software environments

Assist the Vendor management team and other SIAM teams to ensure relevant vendor costs are managed

Collaborate with all company Strategy & Architecture and Infrastructure Architecture and ITO Supplier teams to determine technology roadmaps
Requirements:
IT Knowledge:
-
Knowledge (5-10+ years) of Storage Design and Implementation

Knowledge of the principles of Business analysis, defining requirements SLAs and cost evaluation

Qualifications in Storage related disciplines - advantageous

Knowledge of business environment, service requirements and culture
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline advantageous
