Description
We are currently recruiting for an Expert CMDB design and implementation consultant to assume a 6 months rolling contract working for our large European client based in Brussels, Belgium. The ideal candidate must speak fluent English, although French will be advantageous.
Role description:
- As a CMDB design and implementation Expert, you will need excellent skills in change management, risk, incidents, problem solving etc.
- A configuration management expert with a proven expertise in designing data model of CMDB and implementation of CMDB.
- She/He will need to work on the integration of CMDB and TIVOLI and HP Service Manager. Below you will find additional description/technical requirements of the scope.
Requirements Specification
Specific topics to be covered include (but are not limited to):
- Logical and Technical Data Model of the CI hierarchy, CI attributes and CI relationships in the Universal CMDB, along with the mapping towards the existing SMT CI and TADDM CI data models;
- The relationships between managed (authorized) CIs and actual (discovered) CIs including reporting on misalignments between both;
- Definition of which CI types will be stored in Universal CMDB versus what is stored in SMT and TADDM;
- Data federation/replication rules, clarifying how data is pushed/pulled between Universal CMDB, SMT and TADDM and how consistency is ensured;
- Data reconciliation rules, clarifying how TADDM data is (semi-)automatically loaded into Universal CMDB and how potential data conflicts are resolved;
- Any customisations to the Universal CMDB user interface and/or business logic to support the identified requirements;
- Seamless single-sign-on integration between SMT/LDAP and Universal CMDB;
- Technical connectors/integration between Universal CMDB and TADDM;
- Integration with Business Objects if a need for this is identified during the requirements gathering phase (also taking into account the out-of-the-box reporting capabilities offered by Universal CMDB).
Application Architecture and Infrastructure Requirements
This deliverable provides a view on the logical topology and a view of the physical infrastructure needed to setup the Universal CMDB and integrations with SMT, TADDM and Business Objects (if required). HP uCMDB Browser and uCMDB Configuration Manager are in scope of the design. If based on the retained requirements a need is identified for additional Universal CMDB components and/or licenses (eg Advanced Configuration Manager), this will be discussed and decided with the customer before starting the specifications and design phase. If High Availability requirements are identified and retained during the requirements gathering phase, the application architecture should be designed to support High Availability in alignment with the planned SMT High Availability architecture design. In this case the licensing impact is to be documented.
