Senior Industrial Designer Telecom Equipment Senior Industrial Designer

The Role:
As industrial designer, you´ll work as a team-player in multidisciplinary teams or in a more independent way, to create successful products for a global brand that tell solid stories and provide great user experience. You will be asked to generate innovative and waterproof concept designs with a User Centered Design approach: you will be asked to carefully shape products down to the very detail to make life easy for the users. You will conduct field-research and synthesize results to guide concept design phases. You will aim at a rationalist, minimal and elegant design, always consistent with requirement specifications and fitting into a greater product portfolio design language. You will be challenged to ideate mechanic and kinematic solutions to be developed jointly with engineering teams. You will ensure the feasibility of your ideas by exploring alternative solutions in terms of product architectures, material and manufacturing processes. You will test and implement your ideas early on in the process through both sketching, CAD and model making. We are looking for a long term consultant for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
Guiding product development from initial research and concepts to successful products
Communicating ideas and concepts to designers, engineers and other roles within the organization Manage projects in a multidisciplinary team at different levels of involvement
Be responsible for ideation as well as proper implementation of ideas
Maintaining a continued understanding of the competition, industry, standards and relevant trends

Requirements:
You preferably have a minimum four year college degree in industrial design and/or design engineering You have 5 - 10 years experience in industrial design and product development.
You can prove excellent feeling for form and proportion.
You have a strong understanding of global trends, technology and fashion
You have a sound understanding of mechanics, kinematics, manufacturing processes and materials
You have some experience in model-making and quick and dirty prototyping, working with basic tools and machinery on wood, plastics and metals
You are proficient using tools like Pro-Engineer, Rhino, Key-shot or 3ds, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
You are able to work with engineers and other specialists to develop new solutions in combination with existing and new manufacturing processes.
You are self driven and know how to organize work and lead design effort according to tight schedules. You understand that assignments regularly require travelling abroad.
