Sales Consultant / Sales Advisor â?? FTC (Travel)

Our client has built an enviable reputation within the travel industry as a leading tour operator in the active holiday market, specialising in ski, sailing, mountain biking and diving.

Position: Sales Consultant / Sales Advisor
Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Contract Type: Fixed Term â?? 8 month contracts
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £Competitive

ROLE:
The Sales Consultant will provide a friendly, efficient and professional service to both travel agents and direct customers providing information, making and administrating bookings by telephone and email, with an aim to ensure that our clientd excellent reputation is maintained and sales targets are achieved.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Precise in costing holidays and be numerically accurate and take personal responsibility for the integrity of any booking you are making; changing and highlighting any pricing / loading errors immediately.
b) Participate in outbound calling / marketing campaigns.
c) Continuously monitor and improve the customer offering, through personal service delivery and action and through collaboration with the wider team.
d) Understand the brochure terms and conditions with regards to changes to holiday arrangements and be able to explain them clearly to the Travel Agent or customer as required.
e) Excellent customer service skills through all booking channels for both sales & administrative queries.
f) Delivery of all personal KPIâ??s and adherence to all operational standards, policies & procedures.
g) Efficient use of their in house booking systems.
h) Maximise personal skills, knowledge and experience to positively impact on performance and assist in meeting business goals.
i) Prepared to travel overseas for educational and product knowledge improvements.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Previous sales skills experience, and previous customer service experience.
b) An active interest in skiing or sailing.
c) Numerically accurate. General geographical knowledge.
d) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
e) Knowledge of Microsoft packages; Word / Excel / email / PowerPoint.
f) Develop excellent working relationships with colleagues and other internal departments.
g) Take responsibility for all decisions made relating to the role. Flexible approach to working hours and weekend shifts.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Travel & Tourism related higher education qualification.
b) Management related qualification.
c) Previous ski or sailing experience.
d) Travel agent or call centre experience.
e) Experience of working in a results driven environment to achieve personal targets.
f) Commercially aware of holiday sales and trends.
