infrastructure engineer, checkpoint firewall, VMware, Citrix, Microsoft server, CiscoMy client are one of the UK's leading retailers and have stores located across country and they're after a senior Infrastructure engineer with the skills identified below.
Although some architecture/infrastructure design experience would be advantageous we're in a phase where we'll likely be keeping things running as opposed to developing - 4th line.
We do need somebody who has the skills to worth their way through weird and wonderful routing and networking type issues. Part of the role is likely to include the deployment of a new Citrix Environment.
At least a CCNA level in relation to networking/Cisco - This is key!
Priorities:
Checkpoint Firewall Suite including (VPN, Threat prevention and Application Control blades), VMware vSphere (4.1 and 5.x), Citrix Xenapp (4.5 and 7.x), Cisco networking skills to at least a CCNA level.
Useful:
SAN Experience (IBM DS Storage, IBM Storwize, IBM SVC), Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating systems (specifically AD and Group policy), Working knowledge of Linux.
Nice to Have:
Juniper SA Series, Veeam Backup and Replication.
In addition:
Core Hours: 08:30 - 16:30 (can have some flexibility)
Core Days: Mon - Fri for 12 months contract.
Location: Surrey
Rate: per day - dependant on the skills you have.
