Description
We require a Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator for a contract role to undertake the configuration, installation and maintenance of DB2 databases. Candidates must have DB2 DBA experience on the Mainframe and have worked with DB2 versions 9 & 10 in a datasharing environment.
Hands on experience of BMC DB2 utilities is required, particularly Change Manager & MainView. Experience of IBM DB2PM would be an added bonus.
Expertise in automation, alert monitoring, database re-orgs, performance tuning (performance ratios, I/O load balancing, memory buffers etc) and experience in managing data across multiple data sharing environments is required.
On Call Support will be required (on a rota).
General Mainframe expertise around TSO/ISPF, JCL and REXX will be required and experience of SQL performance monitoring and tuning would be a bonus.
For the right candidate there is a potential to transition from a contract role into a permanent position at the end of the initial 6 month assignment.
