Sharepoint Developer
6 months daily rate contract
County Kildare
Excelent daily rate for the right candidate

The primary responsibility of the Sharepoint Developer will be to lead the design, development and implementation of sharepoint and to provide strategic advice, develop information management architectures and take an end-to-end role in the delivery. They will also be responsible for the overall design and management of the solution including SharePoint configuration and defining the necessary Governance, Policies and Procedures.

The main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Participate in and lead, stakeholder brainstorming, technical planning and design sessions as an active contributor and facilitator. Conduct analysis and recommend optimal SharePoint solutions to address stakeholder requirements, communicated through functional and technical design documents. Articulate execution strategy through roadmaps, estimates and implementation plans. Define and develop the necessary SharePoint best practices, governance, Policies and Procedures and ensure quality through their enforcement. Build prototypes and proofs of concept to validate technical decisions.
  • Working with the business to deliver sharepoint solutions in accordance with the standard software development life cycle to ensure the smooth transition from Business Analysis through to implementation in the production environment. Develop procedures and controls to ensure the smooth roll out of sharepoint across the organisation but more importantly future development of sharepoint as a solution.
  • Lead the sharepoint Strategy and future development of the solution as a whole
  • Identify opportunities within SharePoint as a platform which will be of benefit to Bord na Mona
  • Working with the IT Service desk and Operations resolving any incident assigned to support sharepoint including participating in DR testing, incident management, resolution, escalation, in a timely manner and within the ITIL Framework as required.
  • Working within the Application team to ensure appropriate process are implemented, in place and updated if required.

The following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes is required:

  • Experience designing, developing and deploying SharePoint solutions for enterprise-scale Intranet, portal, collaboration scenarios, enterprise search, document and content management, and forms-based workflows for business process.
  • Experience with upgrading SharePoint and the migration of SharePoint content
  • Broad understanding of SharePoint including document management and records management and able to communicate the benefits of those features to business decision makers.
  • Hands-on experience in using Web Parts, Site Collections, Content Deployment, InfoPath Forms, Excel Services, Business Data Catalogs, Site Columns, Content Types, Authorisations, Advanced Search, Master pages and Content pages, Search settings and workflows to accomplish business needs.
  • Understand the customisation options of the SharePoint platform and when each is appropriate.
  • Experience administration of SharePoint 2013 online and on-premise production farm.
  • Experience with O365, taxonomy/metadata, mobile/responsive design and mentoring others a bonus
  • Microsoft: Office , SharePoint and supporting technologies, including SharePoint Designer and InfoPath.
  • JavaScript, Windows Workflow Foundation, Visual Studio 2010, SQL , SQL Reporting Services, SQL Analytical Services, IIS 7, PowerShell scripts, BI/Reporting technologies with Active Directory an advantage.
