You will be required to speak (French or Dutch) and at least a passive understanding (spoken) of the other. Fluent in English (written & spoken)

Function Description

  • Actively looking for a senior .NET WPF/WCF specialist to integrate the Metering development team.

  • The objective of the team is to supply services for a series of critical core applications for gas flow management:

  • New Product development:

  • Enhancements on existing products

  • Support existing products

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the services but will have a first specific assignment concerning one of the core metering applications made in WPF: Metro. The goal is to improve the performance of the application especially towards the binding and rendering strategy but also towards Back End performance tuning. Therefore he/she will be able to propose impacting architectural improvements and work autonomously inside a very motivated and agile team.

Responsibilities

  • Together with Tech Lead/Architect define a roadmap to improve the usability of the Metro application especially towards performance.

  • Modernize/Rewrite a large part of the UI, work on performance and usability aspects.

  • Improve performance on the Back End and propose architectural improvements.

  • Testing (unit tests, integration tests).

  • Collaborate with operations teams to deploy/configure the software.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate with business analysts for understanding the specifications and designs that form the basis for implementation

  • Ability to communicate with technical lead to understand the constraints of the architecture that must be followed.

  • Master one of both national languages (French/Dutch) and at least a passive understanding (spoken) of the other. Fluent in English (written & spoken)

Personal Skills

  • Ability to work relatively independently following the priorities and timing of the release plan

  • Ability to work structured following the procedures (check-in, check-out, time sheet reporting, punctuality)

  • Ability to work according to rules, standards and guidelines defined in the architecture

  • Ability to communicate realistic predictions about the development work

  • Ability to learn a complex business model

Technical Skills

  • Ability to develop on the .NET platform in a structured way according to the coding conventions and rules.

Master most of the technologies and practices used:

  • WPF, MVVM, Prism, MVVM Light

  • C# 3.5 >= 4.5

  • Visual Studio 2013

  • WCF

  • NHibernate

  • Unit Testing (Ms Test)

  • TDD
