Marketing Graduate/Junior Internal Online Communications Assistant: Oil & Gas

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Online Communications Assistant who has previous experience (possibly an Internship or Summer placement) working in a Marketing or Communications function for a large organisation.

You will be joining a team of 4 in managing internal online communications for Global Retail and Lubricants Marketing, Global Commercial Sales and Key Accounts and contributing to the development and execution of the Internal Communications Strategy by:

Accountabilities:

  • Designing and developing Intranet content and collaboration spaces that facilitate smarter working between businesses, teams and individuals (60%)
  • Consulting on and developing bespoke SharePoint applications that will add value (10%)
  • Tracking and reporting channel use against a set of success measures, number of views, number of subscribers to news channels, number of video plays etc (10%)
  • Organising virtual learning sessions to train global audience on collaboration tools (10%)

Other Activities (10%):

  • Attending meetings to advise internal customers on online communication opportunities.
  • Helping to maintain knowledge management channels; asset repositories, internal wiki etc
  • Producing professional looking presentation material

About You:

A motivated communications or Marketing graduate with a passion for Digital. You will have the skill and ability to listen to and advise diverse teams across multiple locations, preferably drawing on some experience of managing stakeholder groups. You will be a keen and quick learner with a commitment to making the business a better, more efficient and inspiring place to work.

Although this role involves internal communications, it would suit someone looking to get a deeper understanding of how a Marketing function operates, working with some of the world's leading brands in the category.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level preferably with study in communications, marketing or online
  • Previous experience (possibly as Internship or Summer placement) working in Marketing or Communications function for a large organisation
  • Intranet and/or Internet publishing experience (SharePoint ideal)
  • Good understanding of online communication tools (intranets, wikis, social media, etc)
  • Intermediate Photoshop skills and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint essential)
  • Ability to operate effectively under stress and crisis situations
  • Flexibility in day-to-day activities and ability to multitask are essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people from varied backgrounds
  • Experience of using Yammer or similar corporate social media platform (desirable)
  • Photoshop or graphic design skills (desirable)
  • HTML experience (desirable)
  • A creative and innovative self-starter, resilient and able to work both autonomously and as a team

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
