The Company
Our client is a well-respected, global organisation which has a large range of offerings to both public and private clients across the retail, corporate and institutional banking areas. They have a very large technical footprint that combines a dynamic range of technologies in an ultimately complex landscape. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Senior Murex (3.1x) Technical Support/Environment Engineer with expertise across UNIX/Linux platforms, Perl/Shell script and a good understand of Front to Back Office trade flow.
The Team
The greater team/group improves and supports suite of Front Office applications, some vender based and some proprietary. This high calibre team ensures the high availability of ultra-low-latency, high frequency, order execution & market intelligence systems - a technical SWAT team of problem solvers responsible for ensuring the highly complex trading applications environment is fully enabled and working at maximum potential. They work in a pressurized environment where speed is king and a production environment's availability to users is crucial to the business.
The Role
In this senior role you will provide technical (and some functional) support as well as be involved in an array of project initiatives relating to the Murex 3.1x platform, the underlying infrastructure layer (UNIX/Linux) and be able to script in Perl and/or Shell (BASH). Experience with MxML and a knowledge of Front to Back Office trade flow are highly desirable.
Requirements of the role:
- 4-5 years' technical and functional support experience with Murex, current with version 3.1x (Essential).
- Strong UNIX/Linus skills along with Scripting in: Perl, Shell/BASH (Essential).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, articulate.
- A solid understanding of Front to Back Office trade flow.
- A University Degree/Diploma in Technology or Finance.
- Experience with MxML and an understanding of FX/FX Derivatives highly regarded.
