Principal Reliability & Maintainability Engineer.
A Principal Reliability & Maintainability Engineer with Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Testability is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Edinburgh.
This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence business.
Overview of the Principal RM&T Contract Engineer contract role
This role is for a contract engineer to work as a Senior Reliability, Maintainability, Testability and Safety (RMTS) Engineer within an integrated design team on the next generation of high performance Electronically Scanned (E-Scan) Radar systems operating on fast jet platforms.
Key skills required for the Principal RM&T Contract Engineer.
- Good understanding of Electronically Scanned Radar Systems operation and aircraft/platform integration.
- Experience of RMTS analysis using military and commercial practices.
- Understanding of military and commercial RMTS standards, legislation and their application at platform and systems level.
- Degree in relevant discipline (must include Electrical and Electronic Engineering).
- Conduct Reliability, Maintainability, Testability and Safety analysis on next generation complex radar equipment.
- This will involve conducting reliability predictions and analysis, performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), carry out testability analysis and supporting the design process through each of the products engineering life cycles.
- An in-depth knowledge of performing a RMT Case approach to supporting Product design.
- The ability to perform detailed hazard analysis of intrinsic, emergent and flowed-down system and aircraft platform level hazards applicable to the radar or potentially contributed to by the radar when part of an integrated weapons system.
- To support the design of viable hardware, firmware, software and mechanical concept mitigation to both intrinsic and flowed-down system and aircraft platform level hazards
The role is based in Edinburgh - commutable from Dundee, Perth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Glasgow.
